LONELY SHANNON WALK
You held my hand and led me by the Shannon Walk among the reeds and spooky slopes when the night was dark. It was good to have you near feel your body close to mine as we walked hand in hand. Your firm grip shielded me from slipping on the shiny wood into the lonely Shannon waters, on a cold winter's night. You steered me through the floods and messy ground as we neared the end. And then you held me close, sharing a few of life's moments, before we drifted away into nothingness, like all of human creation moving on its lonely course, with moments of beauty to keep us sane inbetween. |
